Dubrovnik, a city that has conquered the hearts of many visitors and world celebrities, can add one more recognition to the long list of awards it has received this year. The web page Skyscanner has ranked the Dubrovnik beach Banje among the ten most beautiful city beaches in the world. Out of the ten beaches, five are located in the USA, Canada, Israel and Australia, which makes Banje one of the top five European beaches. Though to everyone who has visited this pebble-stone beach any explanation is unnecessary, Scyscanner cites the most beautiful view of the Dubrovnik old city centre, located only 100 metres from the beach itself. Everyone has to be moved by such a view, says Skyscanner, adding the Dubrovnik beach also earned its status of a top beach with its crystal clear sea and the numerous activities and facilities offered. The old Dubrovnik city centre is one of the most attractive and well known on the Mediterranean, and is the reason why Dubrovnik has been proclaimed one of the most beautiful cities in the world in countless surveys. It is on the UNESCO world heritage list and is visited every year by many tourists, including members of the world jet set.

What many visitors to Croatia could already have experienced for themselves has now been confirmed at this year's Decanter World Wine Awards. Known for their high quality, Croatian wines were awarded with as many as eight golden, five silver, and 11 bronze medals, as well as with three recommendations.Red wines produced on the Adriatic coast received numerous compliments from judges. However, it is Croatian sweet white wines that were this year's absolute favourite, and the chief judge Angela Muir has proclaimed them a true discovery. The golden medal went to, amongst others, The Bodren Grey Pinot, which Missis Muir compared to the Sauternes, the world's best dessert wine. The recognition received by the dessert wines were, of course, accompanied by many compliments given to Croatian wine-producers and the conclusion that this year's success has put Croatia on the world wine map. On top of the numerous medals, the director of Decanter, Adam Lechemere, recommended Croatian wines to all wine enthusiasts, thus giving potential visitors to Croatia an even greater impetus to come. If one considers that Croatia is known for is excellent gastronomy as well, it becomes clear that it will attract its visitors not only with its natural beauties and fascinating entertainment and cultural events but more and more with its wine and culinary offering.

Croatia in the world Promotion: HTZ TV Spot

Erschienen in: Croatia
Erschienen am: 07.09.2009

A TV spot of the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) representing Croatia as an ideal vacation destination has recently received an important recognition. According to a monthly survey conducted by Munich-based IMAS, it is the second best TV spot in effectiveness. This recognition is all the more important since it is a result of IMAS psychometric testing of 120 people who have altogether assessed 19 TV spots. The results for every spot are a combination of the index of the effect of what the spot shows and the ac- Photo: Ivo Pervan hieved response. In the assessment of the effect (recognition) of the spot and the response it achieves (attractiveness, readiness to buy or recommend the advertised product by word of mouth), the level of recognition of the motives is also taken into account. The high second place awarded to the HTZ spot is all the more valuable considering the results were published in the journal "Werben & Verkaufen". This journal has a circulation of 33 thousand and its readership comprises experts in the fields of marketing and communications.
