Spiridon Gopcevic, known under his pen-name Leo Brenner is one of the most controversial astronomer in history, and thanks to his researching of the Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn he became acknowledged in the world of astronomy: nowadays one of the Moon”s craters bears his name. He opened an astronomical observatory in Mali LoÅ¡inj named Manora, saying:“…. there is no place on the whole Earth having better conditions for astronomical observatory.“
